A Message from our Artistic and Program Directors

The terrible 2020 pandemic has effectively silenced the professional life of musicians, preventing them from working and expressing their art. The doors of concert halls are closed, performances are cancelled, and teaching mostly adjourned. The hardship musicians face today is truly devastating.

In view of this crisis, and cognizant of our mission and commitment to give a voice to our wonderful artists and mentors of future generations, we are happy to announce a new venture, as the Miami International Piano Festival enters cyberspace with its emerging Virtual Platform.

For nearly a quarter-century, the Miami International Piano Festival has presented celebrated concert series of great pianists and other musical artists and, in recent years, its inspiringly successful summer academy (MIPFA).

If success is measured by the degree of long-term stimulation and inspiration provided by master teachers and other programs, then the outstanding subsequent progress of our enrollees proves our Academy’s value.

Therefore, this summer program cannot and will not be cancelled; instead, it will take place through our new, virtual platform so that we are able to share its methods with talented young pianists around the world.

Through this new Virtual Platform, artists of our faculty will manage their own programs of teaching and avail themselves of new opportunities to perform – as they share their vision through interactive lecture-presentations, master classes, and private lessons.

The program will start on June 29, 2020 and continue throughout the rest of the year.

Please stay tuned as we bring this unique Academy and Festival live!

Warmest regards and please stay SAFE.

Giselle Brodsky, Artistic Director
Pablo Valero, Program Director
